should've listened to first Mouth Music song much earlier b/c can't listen to just one of anything & posting a couple more Seinn O! マウス・ミュージック「グレイト・マウンテン」 "Chi mi na morbheanna" (I see the great mountains) Not bouncing thread again & changed gears to see if one of my tabla playing friends was on Youtube before closing down for night & don't know if this guy is the "worlds best tabla player" BUT he is pretty damn good imo!
Anoushka is the daughter of the late Ravi Shankar (I think they misspelled the name here). This piece also features Tanmoy Bose, another world-class tabla player, without the vocal tricks, hmmm. Ravi:
Iris Dement....enuf said. I believe she was born in NE Arkansas so she was a good pick to star on the sound track for the remake of True Grit, an Arkansas story and book and a must-see movie imo. The original movie starred John Wayne (his best movie and only Oscar) and Glen Cambell (another AR native). I prefer the Coen brothers' remake with Jeff Bridges (brilliant), Matt Damon, Josh Broslin, and Hailee Steinfeld as Mattie Ross (another brilliant performer who competed against 15,000 other child actors to win the role). Can't resist one more, the theme song of the final episode of Northern Exposure....
universe speaks through music & unreal timing too! song was popular when i ended relationship with someone & just got a call from him out of the blue this past weekend & have heard this "REMINDER" song a couple times now...
don't know if ANY one will remember the movie "Convoy" but pretty sure this movie spoke to my rebel nature when young b/c always wanted to drive something this big & be part of a convoy that was flying down the road pissing some bears off, which i haven't done to date lol. Anyway, heard this on way home from an area where this way old C.W. McCall is still being played - man has a great voice & knows how to tell a story that still speaks to that rebel part of me!
My sister-in-law sent me this link for my birthday. I turned her onto Laurie Anderson's album "Big Science" back in the early 80s (vinyl of course). This is a track from that album, "O Superman".
