Can't believe the Indians got knocked out, and what a game Thursday night by the Cubbies. Disaster of a pitching game from the starters on down through all the relievers. Wade Davis came in to close in the 7th inning though, and remained in for the rest of the game. Apparently a family member was also sick and the plane to L.A. was delayed. They didn't get to L.A. until around noon yesterday after travelling all night and playing til almost midnight.

Gonna be a long series I hope. Fully expecting the Cubs to lose game 1 with an unrested pen, and Lackey/Quintana on the mound against Kershaw to start the series. We'll see if the bats can stay alive, that's our only chance in the 1st game. Quintana pitched Thursday, but it was for relief and only like 10-15 pitches if memory serves. Really hoping he can start game 1, I don't want to see Lackey at all this post season.

crazy! i really thought the tribe had the team to win it all this year ... i guess that 22-game win streak during the regular season might have taken a lot out of them.

not sure i have much of a rooting interest now ... don't really care for the dodgers much ... i guess i will just root for houston ... unless the cubs can comeback then i'll just root for the cubbies again :p

Not the best start to the Playoffs. Maddon's management of the bullpen in the playoffs has been questionable at best. More likely BAD. Still have hope, we came back against the Indians 3-1 last year, and I've also seen my Blackhawks do the same thing in the playoffs more than once, so I still believe.

Exactly, I'm on the Astros bandwagon this year. Two of my least favorite teams in the Yankees and Dodgers. I'll root for the tigers of those 2 tho. Astros are likeable though.

Only way the WS gets worse is if the Cardinals are in it *insert throwing up emoji*

Happy for the Astros as well, much rather seeing them winning rather than teams like the Yankees and the Dodgers :p

This is the most excited I've been about Angels off season acquisitions since I moved out here in '87. This is last year of Scioscia's contract. Do or die for him. Should've been fired few years ago. No other team would've kept him this long.

Not too far off form the start of spring training here. Looking forward to having the baseball back full-time again. :)

A part of me wishes we could have kept the shot clock out of the game, but I'll go with it. It could change the game, but not in a horribly bad way, no matter what purists (if they are left) may say. Like I'm thinking it could lead to higher batting averages because pitchers will no longer micromanage every pitch; they can have a general strategy for attacking the batter, and that's it.

I wish they'd go with an 8-man team instead of 9. Then we could see strategy about where defenses position themselves, for each batter and based on who is pitching. If they'd done that, they could have avoided the shot clock and it would've been a lot more interesting imo. I don't care if the game is 2:45 or 3:15 long, it's the same game as always.

Most casual fans though do care about how long a game is. They play a ton of them, and to convince your spouse to watch a game on TV that they don't want to, or to stay through the 8-9th inning in a semi-close game (you know it's close because it's 3 runs, she thinks it's a blowout, etc.) can be challenging.

I'm all for making the games shorter. There are tons of pitchers who do a whole song and dance between pitches, it's unnecessary and really lengthens the game more than it needs to be. I remember watching playoff games that went over 4 hours with a score of like 3-2... that shouldn't happen.
