I agree, if you are planning for a trip then you have to save up for it. Never take a loan to have a vacation, it's like spending the money you have never earned yet.
I would never take out a loan for something as transitory as a vacation. if something happens (i.e. job loss) and you can't repay the loan, you're screwed. No vacation is worth that. my wife and I went bankrupt some years back because we did just the type of thing you're contemplating. We learned our lesson.
I don't think getting a personal loan for a vacation is a good idea. you have to save for this kind of expenses
