oh, no, mr @WXYZ , i know you are trading apple. don't back pedal on me. i spend quite a bit of time trying to time the market with that 5%. we can do a poll to see how we should do a poll.
I enjoy Emmett and wouldn't dream of saying anything negative to him but I had an evil and ruthless moment earlier this week when I refrained from posting in an introduction thread of a guy who rolled into the the site, mentioned he lost his job, and plans to make up his salary with day trading. Truth be told, I should be banned for that behavior.
I find that guy extremely interesting. He is a very nice man. At the moment, he is acting like an egomaniacal asshole. I have full confidence he will settle down, once he loses a bunch of money and discovers his mortality.
I'm no expert. If I could pick all the right stocks, times perfectly to buy low and sell high....you think I would be here? I would degrade on RobinHood, while living in Thailand. None of my ex's would be able to collect a.dime.from.me. And I would be a legend on an adult hobby forum.
He is dry humping a penny stock pharmaceutical. And not getting extra $600 to stay home. My broker EF Hutton says.....If you put $5 million in @ 5¢ per share; you make $1,000,000 with each penny.
Investing is usually better because you have a long-time horizon (depending on your age and finances) and a lot of time to make a decision. Trying to use stocks to create a monthly income is much different unless you are charging people a service for like an investing service... but that isn't stock investing or even trading.
Well, would you look at that? 52% investors, 12 total as of today. And at one point we were under the impression that there were only two investors on here, @TomB16 and @WXYZ .
How many people who self-identify as investors would not buy a stock unless they planned to hold it for 5+ years? To me, an investor is someone who wants to own a company. The absolute minimum time horizon is 5 years and there is no maximum.
There are way more investors than people think.......we stay in the closet because others make fun of us. Just semi-kidding. Back when I would post 20-25 years ago back in the 1990's day trading era about being a long term investor.....everyone would call me a "buy and hold" investor........as a derogatory term......... and say it was really dumb to blindly hold stocks forever. it never mattered how often I told them....that is NOT how it works. Who knows....we might even take over this board.
Good time for a bump. My buddy sent me this today. Perfect place for it. I debated cocktail lounge, then saw this.
I swore off trading.....until this past week. I mean, I have a pulse! I couldn't resist! Did you *SEE* what was going on??? Wow, what a rush. (Puts head back down and picks up list of long term possible buys)
