Wife and I used to order it fairly regularly (when we were too lazy to go pick up actual pizza). It's alright, not nearly as greasy as it used to be. I remember back in the day you'd get a papa johns pizza and would just wait an hour after you picked it up for it to soak through the bottom of the box!
I liked getting pizza from Papa John's, but it's not your normal pizza. Get the anchovies and pineapple, and they give you garlic sauce to dip the crust in! But yeah, I know crust is not supposed to need a dipping sauce, and it's pretty hard to find other people that like salty bombs of fish mixed with acidic chunks of plant matter. Used to use the code 10WW to get $10 pizza on Wednesday. I like Papa John's because other chains don't let me get anchovies, I guess is my contribution. Spoiler I only learned this year that Little Caesar's makes a pizza that is more than just pepperoni and cheese
The quality is not as good as it was several years ago. Could be a management issue in our local store. That's usually the case. Our small walmart was the best around because of their management. Now it sucks because they moved all the good talent to the super center. This is probably the case with our local papa johns.

Bill Cosby did not sit on the board of Coca Cola. Barry Manilow did not a white suit and attempt to be The Colonel. Food as a business, has nothing to do with how good food is in real life. Some of the best restaurants are single location, not known to anyone except locals. Chain pizza is bad. Yet pizza chains make money. Very few chain restaurants are successful because they have great food. I know great pizza is debatable. NY, Chicago.....whatever. But nobody proclaimed Domino the best. Look at how Domino stock popped.
