thanks for posting the chart. need a tutorial on how to post live charts from finviz. i'm not a member so that could be a factor. anyway, could be some good scalping on this ipo. i think i may have some play money laying around.
i bailed at 21%. not sure how this one fell in my lap, but a good long watchlist can expose a person to some luck once in a while.
Now put that in an index fund for the next 29 years ~360 days, and you'll beat the market over a 30-year horizon.
Rivian Automotive shares are trading higher after several analysts initiated coverage on the stock with bullish ratings. Dec 6, 2021 11:00a ET
Aren't these guys just a car company? At least Tesla has a solar business and SpaceX and the charging network.
If the rumors of Samsung/Rivian partnership falling apart are true, Rivian is in trouble. http://www.thelec.net/news/articleView.html?idxno=3799 It's not out of character for companies to negotiate using steel pipe tactics. I've been in meetings that I've wanted to leave when my cohorts started talking about punitive contractual clauses we would require that would literally make it a stupid deal for the vendor. Vendors are used to this and have skills in removing corporate poison from contracts but it wouldn't surprise me if Rivian rolled in with the attitude, "We are a billion dollar company so we are calling all the shots here.". Of course, Samsung could buy Rivian using cash reserves but few executives realize the limits of what suppliers will endure. Meanwhile, Morgan Stanley and Deutsche have been advising to buy the dip on Rivian. Their endorsement has me considering a short position on RIVN.
was driving around with the wife a few days ago. she said what is rivian. i said where? not a bad looking truck at all.
spotted another rivian truck today, this time in my community. and, yes, the wife noticed it first. says she wouldn't pay that much for a truck. so i'm scratching my head and asking why are we seeing these? answer may be partly due to the fact that the home office is in our county. 14600 Myford Road Irvine, CA 92618 Phone: (302) 658-7581 Fax: (302) 655-5049 https://rivian.com/
3rd sighting: alas, i was in the parking lot of my local public library and spotted yet another rivian. an attractive female walked up to it and opened the front hood. a damsel in distress needing my rescue? ah, no, dimwit. it is a storage space. thus, i entered the library and perused the shelves for some good reading material.
deleted message. confused lucid with rivian. duh. but i did see another rivian couple of days ago. 5th sighting down in laguna beach big money down there.
I love Laguna Beach. Several years ago we did some mountain bike riding on the spines in the state park and it was spectacular. What an amazing place in one of the most beautiful parts of the world. You are fortunate to live in SoCal, Emmett. [Edit: to remain topical, I will suggest Rivian appears to be a really nice short opportunity. ]
