A continuance of he run is quite possible with or without news as the Telecom sector has picked up speed. Since S broke a tipple top a test of the $7 level may be in the books
With the telecoms mostly down, S, TMUS, ORBC are the only ones up. Good sign when telecoms head north again
Up most of the day S finally gave way to market pressure Moody's upgrades Sprint's ratings outlook to stable from negative Moody's Investors Service affirmed its B3 corporate family rating of Sprint (NYSE: S) but upgraded the carrier's speculative grade liquidity (SGL) and changed its ratings outlook to stable from negative. The B3 rating marks "a one notch lift" for Sprint, Moody's said, due to expectations Sprint and its parent SoftBank "will seek to retain the viability of Sprint as a going concern." SoftBank's support has been crucial as Sprint has improved its liquidity position, Moody's said, and the U.S. operator has made progress recently in cutting costs and adding postpaid subscribers. Moody's said it believes Sprint's improved liquidity gives the operator the leverage and cash it needs to address near-term maturities and to fund its business for the next 18 months. Sell volume on the pullback from the recent 6.28 high and 3 year POC (point of control) has been extremely shallow. Me-thinks SoftBank wants to run her up some more.
S down as the markets rally. It could be that the telecom sector is weak today as S was became more overbought when it touched 6.35
S has been relatively quiet since the back to back pops but is treading above water. If it can break the 6.35 resistance, the 6.75 level waits at the upper BB. I still hold all my calls and 80% of my share count since my last sell.
As AH is still going on I see what appears to be some institutional activity. There are some big trades of 45K, 124K and a 134K all at the ask. That is not a lock for tomorrow but it does look promising when you mix the cocktail with today's trading
S was showing strength this morning and now markets are starting to meltdown...Could turn into a buying op for those that don't have a position
As S has looked weak for the last couple of weeks I sold the rest of my AUG 19 $6 calls. If the price should take a pop I have my AUG 19th $4.50's calls to fall back on. If the price drops instead I might buy the $4.50's. It seems like a win/win proposition to me.
S still trading sideways and now my sell on the $6 calls yesterday turned out to be the right decision.
