Safe Bulkers, Inc. (SB) is a holding company. The Company's primary business is the acquisition, ownership and operation of drybulk vessels. The Company is an international provider of marine drybulk transportation services, transporting bulk cargoes, primarily coal, grain and iron ore, along across the world shipping routes. The Company's fleet consists of 37 drybulk vessels, of which 14 are Panamax class vessels, eight are Kamsarmax class vessels, 12 are Post-Panamax class vessels and three are Capesize class vessels, with an aggregate carrying capacity of approximately 3.3 million deadweight tons and an average age of approximately 6.1 years. The Company deploys its vessels on a mix of period time and spot time charters. It has approximately 45 subsidiaries, which are incorporated in Liberia and in the Republic of the Marshall Islands.
