I think I will try a Delta airlines earnings play for tonight. Not much premium here so I'll try some ratio spreads. Buy near the money and sell 2 out of the money. Calls and puts.

Yep IWM with a nice day today but 20 ma below the 50 ma. Transports had a bad day, and there too 20 ma below the 50 ma (for the Dow theorists). Looking for a bounce here to 2410-2450 then a fast drop. SPX has the 20 ma will fall below the 50 ma.

'Charging Bull' sculptor accuses NYC of violating his rights

NEW YORK (AP) — The sculptor of Wall Street's "Charging Bull" statue, Arturo Di Modica, is accusing New York City of violating his legal rights by allowing the "Fearless Girl" statue to be installed facing the bronze beast, without his permission. [Di Modica had installed the massive bronze in front of the New York Stock Exchange after the 1987 stock market crash, without a permit in the middle of the night — as a symbol of America's financial resilience. LOL kind of hard to base his case on granting permission]

Attorney Norman Siegel told The Associated Press that Arturo Di Modica will explain at a news conference Wednesday exactly how he's challenging city officials who issued a permit for the bronze girl to stay until February. Siegel said he's demanding that the city release documents showing what procedures were followed.

The 4-foot girl staring down the 11-foot bull with hands planted on her hips quickly became a tourist magnet, drawing global attention on social media while awakening the imaginations of live visitors who posed for pictures. [yep takes a lot of imagination in 2017 to pose with a statue]

Di Modica calls the statue an "advertising trick" created by two corporate giants — State Street Global Advisors, the Boston-based investment giant, and McCann, its New York advertising firm. [who will make a statue celebrating the resilience of advertisers?]

The Italian-born sculptor says the presence of "Fearless Girl" infringes on his own artistic copyright to the "Charging Bull," by changing the creative dynamic to include the other bold presence.

A spokeswoman for the mayor did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

I'm not sure I get the whole point behind the "Fearless girl". She seems to be facing off against the bull, right?

The bull stands for a bull market. That is, a market that is going up and pensions, 401k's, people's individual stock holdings, etc, are all gaining in value.

So the "Fearless girl" is for a bear market? Is there some other conclusion that can be drawn from this?

The advertising tricksters say she is there because women are underrepresented as the heads of companies. But her placement is certainly opposite of the bull. Would be interesting if New York resolves this by keeping the girl but moving her. Maybe put her next to the bull, "working together".

@JPinto88 had some questions for you guys on how to play earnings.

I was explaining to him that earnings plays can go either way and its tricky!

Some times good earnings send a stock lower, and other times bad earnings can send a stock higher (if whisper numbers expected worse), so there is no magical system for 100% perfect earnings plays!

If anybody here likes to trade earnings plays, how do you do it?

I think @Baggi likes to trade earnings :D I usually don't enter a position into earnings. What I usually do is that if I think the move to either the upside or downside is overdone after earnings, then I might enter a position
