Thursday morning sleep deprived bearish take part two: The MM's will want to shake out all of the shorts with an exhaustion gap before they collapse the markets. IMO that's when you can short this market.
haha! good one Steve. thx @stock1234! that's absolutely right. i tend to spend a little less time indoors and more time outdoors around this time of the year. truth be told i've been waiting all year for this nice weather. now that it's here, i want to take advantage of it and get out more. so anyway i was thinking of perhaps taking the entire month of May completely off from running the "daily" challenge threads. i would still like to try to have the weekly/monthly one's active. i think i've literally only missed 1 week from running the weekly polls/stock pick challenge since i took over running this from Mark Vierra on HSM back in 2014. and that happened to be last week! the only reason that one was canceled was due to some weird thread issues where some people were reporting that the threads were closed off for new replies, which ironically happened right at the time that I suffered a little mountain biking injury during the Easter weekend. or else we'd still be perfect running these since post-Mark Vierra. as it is we did miss that 1 week. so 1 week missed since 2014. not too bad lol. i think we can probably drop the "quarterly" stock pickers challenge for good as well. that one seemed to be a bit excessive for us. i was largely testing that one out this year to see how it would do. participation was pretty good though! anyway, not to get off market discussions in here. i will be sure to have this posted on our challenge threads or have it pm'd to all the participants this weekend so you guys are all aware of my extended break. thx again fellas you guys are absolutely the reason what makes this community (albeit a smaller one now -- not that this is a bad thing either!) so great IMHO.

Anyone playing earnings for those reporting after hours? We have big boys like AMZN, INTC, SBUX, MSFT, and GOOGL reporting today Those earnings could move the market tomorrow and we also get the GDP number tomorrow morning. Q1 GDP estimate is around 0.4% I think

GDP was weak in Q1, investors are betting on strong comeback for the economy in Q2, we will see if we will get that
that was a pretty lousy gdp figure this morning 9th straight year it has missed estimates for q1 so no surprises i guess we'll see if we do get the rebound in q2 and h2
As we enter the final hour of this trading month of April I thought would post up the percentage changes for the major indices for the week, month, quarter and year (I'll have these final figures re-posted onto the new weekly thread a little later this evening)- Not too shabby for the markets going into May.
