Technology has traditionally been known as one of the more speculative sectors of the stock market. With the possible exception of pure biotech plays, I can't really think of another that holds the intrigue and optimism of investors as does technology stocks. From an investor's perspective, top tech stocks to buy right now is an quite great opportunity. As you enter a new year and perhaps look to rebalance your portfolio, the technology sector still boast plenty of opportunity. Perhaps no sector is as prone to seeing wide-eyed predictions about massive changes that are about to hit entire markets and industries as technology. But more often than not, enormously-hyped tech trends end up doing less than expected in the short-term, even if some of them end up exceeding the wildest expectations of pundits over the long run. Going into 2017, technology is seeping into almost every aspect of everyday life. From retail to travel and transportation, hardly anything is purely analog nowadays.
Yesterday was TSLA making ATH while Ford/GM etc. (auto parts stocks like ORLY, AZO, THRM) crashed. Today AMZN making ATH while retailers crash. Seems like a coronation. All hail the new kings.
Dow Jones leading...smells to me like banks are getting ready to rebound. Gold is ready to break one way or the other. Right at the 200 ma resistance.
today was the 100th consecutive trading day the spx closed above the 50 ma ... i couldn't find a longer streak on the charts going back at least 5 years edit: actually looks like it's the longest run since 2011 here's a look at the performance of some of the asset classes since the end of feb., inauguration and year-to-date
Interesting stats, and I guess not that shocking too since for the last 100 days, we had just one trading session that the SPX closed more than 1% lower than the previous day

^^ Strong indeed. This was the 3rd straight month that we saw ADP come in at 240K or higher ... the last time we saw something like that was in late 2005/early 2006 ... furthermore, the 3-month average of the ADP is 253K which is the strongest 3mo avg. since June 2014. But wait, there's more! ADP has been blowing away the estimates for the past 3 months now. In fact, if you take a look at the actual vs. estimates of ADP it comes in at 89K. That means ADP has been beating the consensus # on average by 89K for the past 3 months. There's only been one other instance where we saw an average this strong. That was from Dec. 2010 to Feb. 2011 at 94K. Not too shabby at all. Speaking of rate hike odds, this calls for a new fed thread poll soon lol!
NASDAQ hit another ATH today, seeing names like AMZN and MSFT hitting ATH as well Small caps still lagging the big caps though just like the recent sessions
wow what a sell off from the fed minutes, now spx under the 8 and 21 again. could this be the end of the rally as we know it?
