Right now only 26% of stocks are up, and yet the market is close to going green after the gap down. VIX resistance line held again. We'll probably see it go <20 after the inauguration.
Re: VIX -- that's my thinking as well Marcy. I really like to find out when the last time the VIX was over 20 (on a closing basis only) for this long. It's been like 11 months right?
Yep, hard to imagine 11 months of this high VIX. But then, no need to imagine it because we've lived it. I hear only two other times has VIX been elevated for this long: April 2003 and October 2009. Also this is interesting https://www.thechartreport.com/cotd-11-18-20/ : Perhaps we’ll see Volatility get crushed in 2021 like the last two post-election years (2013 and 2017). Both of those years were a steady grind higher for the S&P 500 with very little downside volatility.
Definitely interesting to see the VIX staying above of 20s for so long despite we keep making new ATHs before this week
Got into SRAC today. Already have SPCE, MAXR and IRDM but feel like space stocks can really take off this year
