btw i feel it is worth mentioning here on the main thread for those who don't check into the groups section, that @stock1234 is starting off this new year perfect on calling the daily market direction. also worth noting that he was our champion in calling the market on every time frame (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, yearly) last year as well. seriously just might be the greatest i've personally seen at calling the market, and i have been running those contests for many years here since dating back to our HSM days. the accuracy is just mind blowing. here's a shout out to ya @stock1234! also not sure if anyone had noticed but @stock1234 recently got a new flair under his name for his amazing achievements in 2017. well deserved imo.
Thanks Cy Market going up almost every day doesn't feel normal but I guess I will go with the trend for now Let's see if we will finally get some more volatility later on this year
Nice little pop into the close too Earnings season gonna start next week when the big banks start reporting. As of now I guess we will see a pretty strong earnings season and this market will just continue to go higher although probably not at a pace like we had this week
CNBC saying that it is the best first week for the market since 2006 I wonder how the market did in the second week in 2006
haha. sorry i couldn't get to this sooner fellas! i had to head out for the evening. i too was interested to find out how the market did in the 2nd week in 2006, and, whelp ask and ye shall receive! see my 2006 weekly chart of the SPX down below. the SPX finished the 1st trading week in 2006 up +2.98% then finished the 2nd week flat/up at +0.17% the 3rd week however was down pretty significantly finishing lower by -2.07% that said though the full month performance for that January was +1.26% and it also registered a January trifecta (positive SCR, FFD, and JB), which is kind of what we're doing right now. hmm... the full year for 2006 ended up with a pretty nice gain at +13.62% perhaps we may be onto doing another 2006 in 2018? we shall see.
