I shorted earlier on today. Been waiting for a while for this damn market to have some sort of correction. This drop was nice today. Wish I had bought more and it had dropped more.
it's looking like we'll have our first back-to-back down days of the year today. the last time a year started off this long w/o back-to-back red days was in 1979, that year went 20 trading days w/o 2 down days in a row to start the year. we're currently at 19 trading days now, so we literally missed tying that mark by 1 day.
also i mentioned this other day that the SPX is still w/o a -1% daily decline in 112 trading days, that happens to tie the longest streak since 1985 if i recall correctly. although we're flirting with that -1% today (currently -0.80% at the time of this post) but if we don't close down -1% today it would be the longest run without a -1% close since the mid-'60s. also another streak to keep an eye on for today is the SPX days w/o back-to-back daily decline of at least -0.50% we're currently at 310 trading days, which as you can see from the chart below is by far the most ever on record...doubling the previous record. wow.
Well, I'm excited for all the buying opportunities whenever the drop is done. Feels like forever based on the last couple years!
