Forgive the rant, but is it too much to expect accurate Covid data from the richest country in the world?? I watch CNBC and "all data points to we have crested and past the worst of it in the southern states" flip over to MSNBC and see "with numbers spiking according to all metrics..." I go to CDC AZ and see that the state of AZ has -1 new death today when we were in the hundreds per day just two days ago. Forget that we just resurrected a soul today in AZ for a moment. Is it too hard to give the American people the facts??

Sorr bout' the rant ... carry on. :p

    Year-to-date

    GLD +26.7%
    SLV +37.4%

    TLT +23.6% (bonds)
    HYG - 3.7% (junk bonds)

    QQQ +21.3%
    SPY 0% flat
    DIA -7.2%
    IWM -11.5% (small caps)

    VIX +83%

So if you look at relative performance it is understandable why it has been hard to be bullish on stocks this year. Looks like SLV might be +60% in a year, imagine if the Dow Jones did that. As much as people love tech stocks (QQQ), even lowly bonds have outperformed them.

I'm so over this BS about wuhanfluhan.
The death rate has been lowered to almost zero ( 47 out of 100,000 people ), but they still act like it's the end of the world.

It’s totally dependent on area though. Some places have quite a bit higher death rates (up to 11%) while others are lower. Numbers can only be compared on a area level not nationwide level unless you want the numbers to look good, like trump does.

where's that guy from the slap chop commercial? i'm almost itching to add that in as an emoji in this forum lmao.

gawd, so much chop in this market if you're solely looking at the indices... got another month of the summer doldrums. pfft.

i know i've said this a countless amount of times in the past, but i'd be hella shocked if this market continues to remain complacent/range bound, you name it, as we head into the fall. should be some really nice moves in both directions in the coming months ahead, or so i hope. just my worthless 2c there.

Kodak up 217% today currently, as they received a $765 million federal loan to produce drugs eg hydroxychloroquine.
In May the company had switched to making hand sanitizer and face masks.
Was it a couple years ago they were building a blockchain?

    OT!

But, could I ask a quick favor from you guys and chime into this post here:
    https://www.stockaholics.net/thread...e-to-get-a-thumbs-up-emoji.10448/#post-129801

and let me know what you think about bringing in some of the former emojis from the old HSM board. just want to see how everyone would feel about that.

i'm not planning to replace any of the current Xenforo default one's that we've had here forever...these would just be an addition to those too. thanks!

It was pretty effed up. Like 17 players. They "voted as a team" to play the game Sunday night even after knowing they had positive tests. I wonder if the Phillies knew about it or had a say in that.

Yankees series got cancelled last night preventively because the Phillies were going to be playing them (and Phillies played against covid-positive marlins the day before).
