Trump will never go for this, if it's true: Among the conditions Beijing is expected to set, China will demand the U.S. remove its ban on the sale of U.S. technology to Huawei Technologies, Chinese officials with knowledge of the plan told the Journal. China also expects the U.S. to remove all tariffs and drop efforts to get China to buy more U.S. exports.
Guess we don't need no stinkin trade deal...lol US economy grew at a solid 3.1% rate in the first quarter MOMENTS AGO

I think there is no market dynamic above. Just fresh air. So would take new money in to push it up rather than just running old orders up and down. I do like the coiling action that is happening, like building energy for a sprint. [QUOTE="i'm wondering what catalysts can get us to break through this range convincingly (and when i say "range" i mean over 2950 by 50-100 handles ... so SPX 3K basically ). absent a black swan event, it seems we could be chopping it up for a while, at least during this traditional "summer doldrums" period [/QUOTE]
interesting bit of stat i ran across in my brief afternoon reads here... the previous 3 times that the SPX was up over +15% after H1 of a year, the final 6 months (H2) did well, or at least during the recent history...but it gets a little mixed a little longer you go back in history as the table below would illustrate.
Yeah looks like the results are pretty mixed for H2 after a great H1 Should be a pretty interesting H2 this year
Short week next week, I wonder if the jobs report will still be released next Friday since Thursday is a holiday Not really expecting much out of the G20 meeting this weekend. I think both leaders will say the right things but no deal will be made. I would be very shocked though if they say anything too negative and cause the selloff for stocks next Monday
I've heard a couple people predicting there will be a deal this weekend. They're getting bullish on Chinese stocks and semiconductors. But we'll see. I just checked RAD after last night's ER devastation. And it's up 22% now, never thought I'd see share price with an 8 handle again. Amazon is partnering with them, a service being called Counter will allow Amazon customers to walk right past all the other merchandise and pick up their meds in a Rite Aid store.
^^ same i'm thinking it'll largely be a nonevent for the markets at least ... unless we have that "breakthrough deal" as for next friday's NFP's, looks like that will still get released despite the holiday on thursday. not seeing any indication (at least not yet) anywhere that it wouldn't. i can't believe tomorrow we close the books on H1 ... it's insane to me how quickly the year is flying
Do we close early next Wednesday btw Cy or we will have a full trading day? Can't remember if we usually close early on July 3rd
Credit Suisse is the sole bank tripped up by Fed stress test as rest get approval to boost payouts https://www.cnbc.com/2019/06/27/cre...y-fed-test-as-wall-street-boosts-payouts.html Will be interesting to see if bank stocks will have a good day tomorrow although I think a positive stress test result was widely expected.
yep we have an early close next wednesday with the market closing at 1pm eastern it's kinda weird having the holiday midweek like that
Thanks Cy Some people might as well take Friday off too Next week gonna feel weird for traders, maybe Monday is the only big volume day after that G20 meeting
