Both yields and the dollar are slightly lower ahead of the FED decision, would be interesting to see how they react if the FED is more hawkish than expected :D

FED raised short term rates by 0.25%. Yields and the dollar are down after the decision

kind of a snore fest of an announcement ... it was more or less inline with what the markets were expecting thus the largely muted market reaction

dollar and bonds certainly took the statement as a bit more dovish though

the vix did that weird down tick at 2pm on the fed again lol

    Ok, here is my question.

    1) Does the Fed know that they will bring about a recession now?
    2) If they do know this, then will they accept responsibility, or, like the media, blame the Trump administration when a recession does hit?

2355 on the ES is my level to watch, if we start closing below that, the short term trend is changing.

yea pretty much ... when in doubt just BTFD :p

joking aside though, this thing will break eventually ... nothing lasts forever (obviously)

i'm wondering though but what is the next big event for the markets to ponder on? isn't there some election or something taking place in france next month i think?

that being said though it might not even matter much at all as most of these supposed "big events" have had little to zero impact on markets.

outside of a black swan i guess we'll just continue to be in this status quo range bound market.

i gotta be super honest here but this market has been quite the borefest for a while now ... a nice meaningful pullback would be hugely refreshing here imho.

if this pullback off the 3/1 ATHs was all that we're getting then that was a pretty damn lame pullback attempt ... i'm still thinking this market wants lower at least in the short-term ... i mentioned that on the daily challenge thread yesterday ... we haven't had a meaningful pullback since just before the election!

The Market Is Acting Like the Fed Cut Rates Yesterday
    Bloomberg - 47 minutes ago
While the Federal Reserve chair raised interest rates by 25 basis points as expected Wednesday, the outlook was less hawkish than market participants foresaw, with projections for the medium-term tightening cycle largely unchanged.

The FED is out of the way for now. Next hike could come in June, but I guess it depends on economic data and whether we will get some details on tax cut or fiscal stimulus by then. I think this market could run into a trouble if there is any sign that the repeal of Obamacare will be delayed, the market wants them to get to tax cut ASAP :p
