Yeah the Chinese stocks were getting hammered when the US stocks were making the ATHs, so I guess the market is saying the worst probably is over for China.
Now the regional airlines like SAVE, ALK, and JBLU joining the selloff since the virus seems to be spreading in the US now too
i would think, considering we also held 3000. but who knows in this wonky market. i know lately fridays have suck, if tommorow sucks, ill do some nibbling.
haha, this market never ceases to amaze i know 2008 was probably the craziest time for the market in recent history, but damn this 2020 sure is making a good run for it sure on a % basis the moves in the indices aren't nearly as large as it was in '08, but still is pretty breathtaking moves we're getting in the indices. what used to take the indices days or weeks, or even months to move, now only takes a day lol at some point we'll get back to normal market moves, but this has been one for the ages to remember. i don't think the 2011, 2015 or even the 2018 corrections were this large in terms of the daily moves in the indices at the very least.
Yeah has been crazy so far Many newer investors probably are surprised since they might be used to the market with mild volatility. Definitely hope this virus won't get worse but it seems to be pretty hard to contain. If the virus is spreading then probably not even the FED cutting rates to zero could save it
I think volatility is the key here. Just watch that VIX to get a sense of whether we get any stabilization in equity prices. I do like LUV and DAL the best for the long run, and I'm a long term holder with a much lower basis than where we are now. But aside from a few options plays as a lark here, not ready to commit new $ just yet.
wow OPK up 40% now. going to the moon after hours lol. amd got a nice bounce after hours, they released to the public the info they held at their analyst day.
ya I mentioned that yesterday on ST about their 20% increase. Then today it’s like hello they are actually doing CV stuff!
There's also the spring/summer festival companies that are gonna hurt if sporting events and concerts get cancelled: See LYV and EB.
Barrel Oil prices fell nearly $3 overnight...bound suppress equities today. We'll see if market can shake it off by afternoon. So far 273,000 job growth not making much impact.
Looks like today's LOD so far bounced and was at almost exactly the same price as Feb 28th's open price
