hmm, so the DJ30 closed down -9.99% today...i was just thinking something here. what if you turned that # upside down, what do you get? now let's go back 11 years to the GFC bear market intraday low in march 2009. what was that number? do you guys remember? don't draw any conclusions from my post here not suggesting anything...it's all meaningless lol just some random thoughts in here on this otherwise historic day on wall st. today.
Did the market bottom in March 11th 2009 by the way during the financial crisis? The DOW actually started the bear market on March 11th 2020
correctamundo. it's kinda eerie to me how both of these happening almost at the same time to the day 11 years ago march is now infamous for starting bull and now bear markets, or if you want to look at it this way, for ending bull and bear markets
whoops, just reread what you posted. actually it was on march 6th (intraday) and march 9th (closing) in 2009. my -9.99% remark was a little weird, but i guess i was trying to imply that maybe something could be in the works as far a reversal (at least short term). we'll see haha.
i wonder if someone will take the reins and start up a youtube channel and upload the videos from these past few weeks haha. unfortunately that won't be me this time around though (thanks youtube.... ).
Anybody seeing SPY close of 255.24? Did it really close up there b/c futures are down to like 147.02?
hah! turns out there is such a thing called lock limit up in the futures. looks like the /es has halted at that +5% threshold this morning, it cannot trade any higher than +5% evidently now im really wondering if there's also a level 1 circuit breaker for the cash market session lol i think not but honestly not 100% sure on that
Never knew there was an up circuit. Too bad the stuff I had that was wrecked yesterday wasn’t up 5% today. scope out OPK though also Disney world closed today!!! That is going to wreck their recovery.
wow, that is crazy 5% up limit. I'm wondering how much of yesterday was margin calls. IB took away cash market margin reduction and even upped their futures margins. MES normally has a 1,165 margin requirement and they are currently sitting at 1,935ish overnight and cash market.
