Well next 2 days could be pretty fun with the Senate vote supposed to be coming up by this Friday, could see some crazy move if they vote during market hours
My earnings roundup for today's after-market: WDAY - beat with 36% growth, and raised. Unknown growth rate (just using finviz). Sitting -3% AH after a 7% drop today, look to buy this, can be easily turned around tomorrow. BOX - met with 26% growth, and guided in line; bad because growth rate is -0.41%. -5.6% AH, this might be worst of it as it would open at bottom Bollinger band, and around 50 ma. Watch it for a couple days, see if upgrades come out to support it. PVH - beat with 5% growth, and guided in line; could be good because growth rate is 11%. Sitting -1.6% AH, near ATH. Might be a mover tomorrow. JACK - missed with -15% shrinkage, no guidance. Growth rate is 14%. Only -5.6% AH, watch out for a turnaround tomorrow. Two things: 1) restaurant sector bounced today, and 2) I thought the miss was anticipated due to Hurricane Harvey as 20% of (franchise-owned) JACK stores are in Houston. Beware because sometimes AH = amateurs hour. SMTC - beat with 10% growth, but guided down. Growth rate is only 5% before that guidance. Down -10% AH below $33, see if this gets supported in 31.xx, looking at weekly chart. It deserves to go down, but it might not go much more down from here. SNPS - beat with 10% growth, and raised. Growth rate is 9%. Up 9% AH, not every semiconductor stock is going to get smashed. Normally I'd try to ride this for more upside tomorrow, but now I'll just watch and see how the day goes. Growth rate is nothing special for the semiconductor sector. And one more, albeit a small one with $100M revs this Q GWRE - beat with 15% growth, guided in line; growth rate is 17%. With a forward P/E=62. Sitting -4.9% AH, around $73. Might find a bottom already since prior ER bounced at $72.97, but I think can go lower. Has not held highs well all Q, so down at $68 I'd look to buy haha...check in a couple weeks and see how things look.
good morning! final trading day of the month (november) today. dow set to open above 24k. happy end of month trading to all.
another melt up day, with a little profit taking...scalped for a few bucks, but just basically waiting till tomorrow
Its been almost a decade... nothing but sky! Can you imagine the shock an entire generation of investors will have when it turns out that some years the market does not go up 10%?
and right back to VWAP...missed most of the trade, but scalped again while getting used to the new broker
Wow market up big again Still holding some longs but probably will sell by end of the day, I don’t want to gamble on the tax reform outcome
i'd be really curious to hear from anyone who does market profile and can tell me how many ticks of excess we have on today's high on the profile for the /es futures? i could be wrong but that 12pm ramp job felt kind of blowoff toppy. we have the ATH printed in the RTH (regular trading hours) which makes it all the more interesting. today's close and the next couple of days will be really telling. only thing is next month is december (cue the fat man in the red suit rally) the pullback/correction may have to wait until the following month. who knows, but this market has gone ballistic and almost reached full retard levels today lol.
401(k) investors rejoice: Dow closes above 24,000 for first time https://www.usatoday.com/story/mone...rejoice-dow-tops-24-000-first-time/908383001/ It took the Dow 43 calendar days to climb from 23,000 to 24,000, its fastest 1,000-point move since the 35 days it took earlier this year to go from 20,000 to 21,000, S&P Dow Jones Indices data show. Each 1,000-point jump equates to a smaller percentage gain as the Dow's price grows larger.
Senate pushes back tax bill vote as setback hits in final hours https://www.cnbc.com/2017/11/30/senate-pushes-back-tax-bill-vote-as-setback-hits-in-final-hours.html Muted reaction so far
^^ so basically a done deal? do we know when they vote on this? i think i heard 11am eastern from one source late last night but not sure if that is the official time. wonder how much of this is already baked in. i guess we find out soon. anyway, welcome to december! if history is any guide for how this month will go then we'll continue the face rip through year end. as @OldFart said -- "rally time" some more!
@bigbear0083 crazy days my friend...I think they're still 2 short of passing it, so still on the fence what I don't like is this: individual tax cuts expire within a decade
