Man, this election cannot come soon enough...

We're about to close out what is historically the worst and most volatile month of the entire year for the major indices on a pretty *cough* flat *cough* note.

The SPX has only closed up or down 1% once for all of October. The last time we saw that happen was 20 years ago.

Also the worst 6 months of the year (aka, Sell in May) which is from May to Oct. is going out up +3%

And now we're entering what is typically the most bullish 6 months for markets (Nov. thru April)

And BTW, I think I need to give a big shout out & kudos where kudos is certainly due here ... but I recall @Baggi was calling for "flat" up to election day a few weeks back... That has certainly played out thus far. Good call there.

Just heard that this was the smallest % range for a 3-month losing streak on the SPX on record...

When VRX has a non-GAAP P/E below 3, and no one wants to take them out, you know things are not good.
Actually they did have one rumour of someone wanting to buy them out a few weeks ago, but nothing came of that, not even an offer price lol.

Ackmann also stuck in CMG, and they don't want him to take a larger stake in their company any more.

"Guns and gold" the name for longs today. RGR, SWHC, ABX, GG, and GOLD. These two things got that name from me several months ago. They seem to run up for a day or so every once in a while. All I can say is it has been a crazy year for sure.

Anybody think playing VIX leading up to the election would be a good idea? Looks like we all should have done it a few days ago, just not sure if the volatility caused by the election has already been run up and we missed our chances, or if it will continue to go up higher.

Anyone know the reason for the spike on front month /RB (rbob gasoline futures) tonight? o_O

That's the largest one-day rip since the 2011 Arab Spring apparently...

VIX up 6 days in a row ... I know @T0rm3nted mentioned this in here last night ... albeit it is so much easier saying this in hindsight now, but man that seem like one of the most obvious plays heading into the election ... that said i'm thinking this can still keep heading higher as we inch ever so closer to nov. 8th
