Looking like it's getting pretty close to a good entry point in the next few days if it keeps going down. Sitting near the lower BB, 50MA is headed north and should crossover the 200MA, it's getting pretty oversold, and will have support at the moving averages. I don't have any LONG-TERM investments right now, but this one could peak my interest. Especially since I'm bearish on the market for the 2nd half of this month and maybe February (we'll see), and this equity seems to act separate from the overall market.
I bought the bottom a while ago on a 1st tier foot in the door buy. I am in no hurry for buy #2 prior to the ER
Looking like a pretty bullish set-up here and a good time to enter. If I was involved in long-term investments and "slower but more safe" growth, I'd definitely plan to get in here as well. Sitting near the lower BB is the upcoming bullish crossover of the 50MA and 200MA. Plus the stock is pretty oversold. Not to mention, I believe the market is headed south the rest of this month, but T seems to act independently of the market.
AT&T Says DirecTV Now Streaming Service Drove Video Adds AT&T (T) says it added more than 200,000 video subscribers in Q4, "entirely driven" by DirecTV Now, offering the first glimpse into how the new video streaming service is doing. AT&T early Friday preannounced Q4 wireless postpaid subscribers that topped analysts' estimates, although analysts say it likely phone users declined. The services provider also said it will record a Q4 pretax loss of about $1 billion related to its annual re-measurement of pension and post-employment benefit plans. http://www.investors.com/news/technology/att-says-directv-now-streaming-service-drove-video-adds/
I bought the JAN 27th $42 calls on the news. Off the highs but I am starting to show a little profit.
My $42 calls looking better now. If T gets another pop tomorrow I may take my profits other wise I will hold through earnings. Good volume on the calls today.
With earnings after the bell, T is down a few cents but good volume on the $41.50 and the $42 JAN 27th calls. We will soon see if the option players are right.
I think T will have good numbers I went over my data limit and had to pay extra last month, that should pad their bottom line.
Currently up 28 cents in AH as the market weighs the earnings AT&T earnings: 66 cents per share adjusted, in line with analyst expectations http://www.cnbc.com/2017/01/25/att-...adline|headline|story&par=yahoo&doc=104237373 AT&T Reports Fourth-Quarter and Full-Year Results; AT&T Meets Full-Year Guidance With Strong Customer Growth http://finance.yahoo.com/news/t-reports-fourth-quarter-full-210100217.html
T down on earnings but not a hard hit so far. As my calls are not looking good right now, looking to add to my position on any big drop.
Now going green as it appears new buyers are coming in. In need of a upgrade to make anything on the calls but my position is doing fine.
I'm no chartist, but seems this is nearing some strong support. I'm adding here in hope that it holds.
I agree for long term holding. Any time T is around the 5% yield range is a good time to get in and hold on for the dividends. This has been a very good dividend play for a long long time and showing no sign of changing that behavior. Even though the yearly dividend increases are on the low side like 1 to 2% increases they make up for it with their higher than average yield.
It is "side-chaneling" between 40-42, wich are, mid-term, levels to watch for. Above 42 enter "long". Break below 40? Short. Cant get easier than that.
