I used to look forward to ER day... especially when I knew we were going to receive blowout numbers. Now it's just another sit back and watch the show experiences. NVDA is pretty much flat for the last 6 months and the stock price is underperforming in it's sector for over a year. We have had flat years in the past followed by massive gains. I chalk this up to letting the stock price catch up to the valuation. In my opinion NVDA is starting to look pretty attractive compared to other AI and tech companies. We will see if the market agrees. Is 2026 the year to go to the next level or continue to float in the doldrums like a Hemingway Novel. Just when I thought I would never use my 9th grade english required reading in the real world! "In The Old Man and the Sea, the doldrums represent a period of extreme, stagnant, and silent calm that tests Santiago’s endurance, mirroring his "unlucky" (salao) streak. While often associated with the equatorial region of the Atlantic, in the novella, this forced patience allows the marlin to tire while highlighting the fisherman’s deep, solitary struggle against the elements."
An interesting little psychological observation. Why pessimists make more money https://klementoninvesting.substack.com/p/why-pessimists-make-more-money "No, I am not talking about making money as investors. There, the track record of chronically bearish investors is abysmal. But investment gurus who sell bearish newsletters make more money selling their newsletters and books than people who sell useful information"
YES.......NONE.....I repeat..... NONE....of these people have any real ability to predict the future. Financial Market Commentators Need the Skills of a Psychic https://behaviouralinvestment.com/2...et-commentators-need-the-skills-of-a-psychic/ "Financial market commentators face a similar challenge to psychics. They are expected to be able to predict the future, but as that is an impossible task they instead have to develop strategies that make it appear as if they can." MY COMMENT What is even worse is all the IDIOTIC media commentary that we see every day about the markets and the future.....example.....all the AI disruption fantasy lately. The "experts" can not predict anything.....so.....do you think some 30 year old journalism major that have never invested in their life can?
The THEME above in multiple posts.......the EXPERTS.....are full of BS. TRUST yourself and your own research and thinking. No one knows "YOU" better than you do. TRUST the long term and FUNDAMENTAL results. Read, research, educate yourself.....there is no easy road to success.....especially just following someone else.
Oh yes.....the markets. Doing "OK" do far. Stocks rise, adding to Tuesday’s comeback as Nvidia and Oracle shares gain https://www.cnbc.com/2026/02/24/stock-market-today-live-updates.html Of course we get the NVDA earnings after the bell today. Hopefully we will see some benefit to the markets for at least the rest of this week.
You know.....I hate how these sorts of articles make it sound negative or like there is doubt about this company. They are proven, the largest company in the world, and probably the most successful. What you dont see here is the headline I clicked on.....that....Wall Street is "BRACING" for NVDA earnings. Nvidia to report Q4 earnings ahead of annual GTC event https://finance.yahoo.com/news/nvidia-to-report-q4-earnings-ahead-of-annual-gtc-event-191031537.html For example: Dow, S&P 500, Nasdaq rise with Nvidia earnings looming as gut check for AI trade
Of course....here is the very positive near future for NVDA. If it follows the media reaction to Blackwell......we will be inundated with negativity about manufacturing issues, delayed releases, and all the other BS.....that is based on anonymous sources.......and speculation. We dont even hear much about self-driving vehicles and NVDA much anymore.....but....this is MASSIVE area for the company in terms of future business. My prediction.....keep in mind the articles about "predictions" above.....LOL.....this company will ABSOLUTELY DOMINATE....for at least the next TEN years. Nvidia’s new AI system Vera Rubin is 10 times more efficient than its predecessor — here’s a first look https://www.cnbc.com/2026/02/25/fir...em-vera-rubin-and-how-it-beats-blackwell.html The question......will the markets care? Will it be rewarded as it should? Will it all be the tree falling in the woods with no one there to hear? I dont see how it all can be IGNORED....but that is what we have seen for the last year and even longer for earnings.
Yes you can and should own both individual stocks and funds.....especially broad based passive ETF's. And as usual....guess who can not keep up and as usual UNDER PERFORMS. Fewer active managers beat index funds last year. Think of them as portfolio ‘teammates,’ not ‘rivals,’ CFP says https://www.cnbc.com/2026/02/25/active-managers-vs-index-funds.html
Speaking of NVDA and self driving cars. Nvidia Backs UK Self-Driving Startup Wayve in $1 Billion Round https://finance.yahoo.com/news/nvidia-backs-uk-self-driving-230100781.html
I STILL say.....there are a good number of great bargains out there right now in the markets. Of course for me......NO MON....NO FUN. At least..... I am fully invested for the long term as usual.
A BIG day for me so far. NVDA and PLTR up big. I have five stocks green and two red. The RED.....COST and GOOGL. I have high hopes that both will turn green by the close. Ok enough for now......I am out of here. Anyone else got any ideas or thoughts or good content?
