Any thoughts on the move to one day trade settlement from two?

Any thoughts on how it will impact volatility?

It won't is my guess. I'm for it though. Should have access to your money sooner.

    Very little if any.

$ 25,000 plus accounts can unlimited day trade until their fingers get numb if they want.

$2,000 "and up" Margin accounts can do unlimited swing trades "overnight" and currently place 3 daytrades in a rolling 5 day period.

Cash accounts are very minimal and are a tiny portion of the market percentage.

Advantage of a cash account when applicable is to upgrade to margin acct. and DO NOT use the extra buying power. The purpose is to have access to overnight settlements, eliminating the unsettled funds issue, etc.

The key word is NEVER use the extra margin buying power, that's where most usually go wrong.
