Just one I made up. LOL Its more of a test to see how many days it takes for all the stocks to hit the sell price. I'm using the high of the day because I plan on swing trading once I get it fine tuned and see that it is working consistently. I'm planning to put in a buy order towards the end of the day and after close, put a good until cancelled stop loss sell order.

It costs $500 to open a trading account. So my plan is to paper trade $500 at 1% risk, or $5. These are the picks for 11/10/2023. The number of shares are based on 1% risk and will increase as the portfolio increases. I still need to fine tune: The stop loss. As you can see Rilyl is 500 shares with a stop of 1 cent. This is because the current price is the lowest in the range. So, do I set a lower stop loss or pass over this stock entirely? Determine the optimal number of days to wait for either a stop loss or a profit target to be met. I would like to buy all the symbols and wait until that optimal day to sell the rest. Hopefully, the basket as a whole ends up with profit, but with a $500 limit, I'll have lower the amount of shares. Playing around with RILYL. I want to spend $100 total. Determine Shares based on total cost $100 / 20.5 buy price = 4.87 round to 4 shares determine stop loss based on risk of 1% of $100 = $1 (($1 risk / 4 shares) - 20.5 buy price) x -1 = 20.25 stop loss, this stop loss is lower so useable. So I just realized, that I should have probably done 1% risk of the cost of the stock instead of the portfolio and try to adjust so I am spending $100. The adjust will come by changing the stop loss and number of shares, but I will not have the new stop loss higher than the lowest low in the range. Tweaks done for next post.
In this updated version. The risk is at 1% of the portfolio value (PV) of $500. I created two stop loss points. One at the lowest value in the date range and one calculated based on risk and share amount. PV = 500 RiskValue = PV * .01 Shares = floor((PV/# of tickers) / Buy) CalculatedStop = round(((RiskValue / Shares - Buy) * -1),2) Stop = lowest price in the date range Next I removed symbols that meet any of these conditions: CalculatedStop > Stop Gain $ < Risk $ (this may change because I can remove some stocks to increase the gain) With the updated symbol list, I recalculated the shares. Note: Gain % is based on cost to buy the share while Risk % is from the total amount of money I have to spend on all the stocks in the list (Portfolio Value), probably should come up with a different name for that. Good luck to me!
These advertisement popups are really annoying. Anyway, I took two approaches the ticker picks. Divide my bankroll among all symbols (previous post) Spend $100 per symbol and cherry pick the ones I want to use. (this post) The one month chart on yahoo shows the highlighted stocks to be fairly consistent with the fluctuation in price. Those are the ones I will paper trade.
It doesn't make sense why so many stocks have a sudden recent drop off, but I'll take a chance on ADRT and see what happens.
I've updated the code to better track what is happening to the stock picks (because I like to just press one button and be done). I'll start with the most recent picks and go from there. My original budget was $500, but until I can figure out how to narrow the list, I'm just going to track. 11-22-2023 I removed a ticker that hit the high/low target in the same day. The program only has access to end of day data so I had to check manually. I'll show this list in future posts only as it gets updated with more tickers.
