As per the thread title, I'm trying to seek out suggested educational material that will equip me for Covered Call Option Trading. I have zero background in trading - I'd mention crypto but to be honest, the manner of my engagement there didn't really lend much towards holding my own in this arena! I'd be very grateful for any suggestions - perhaps any material that you have found beneficial yourselves earlier in your trading journey?
I figured out that covered calls aren't for me. If I think a stock is going back down I'd just rather get out. Too many times the stock went down more than the premium I received from the covered call and then I wished I was just out so that I could buy it back at a cheaper price. Selling cash-secured puts is more to my liking.
Thanks for the feedback. I guess I'll have to get burnt all on my own. :-( Were you happy enough that you had a good spread of options with high probability of profit? Of course the other thing is that you were without Tom's 'prayers' whereas I on the other hand..... My apologies for having brought you back to medieval ways..
Basically for covered calls you want stocks that are sideways or up. I'd be kinda scared to do them with the market so high... been going up up up for so long. And interest rates are going up. Interest rates up typically mean stocks down. But then there are probably stocks would be good to do covered calls on. Just have to find them. Stocks not too overvalued and likely to go sideways or up.
