Twitter broadens its campaign against hate and abuse By BARBARA ORTUTAY and MICHAEL KUNZELMAN, Associated Press NEW YORK (AP) — Twitter announced Tuesday that it is expanding efforts to protect its users from abuse and harassment, the latest milestone in a broader, growing corporate campaign to crack down on online hate. The social media giant said it has begun identifying people who have been banned for abusive behavior and it will stop them from creating new accounts. The company said its changes, which also include a new "safe search" feature, will be implemented in the coming weeks. In July, Twitter banned conservative provocateur Milo Yiannopoulos, an editor of the right-wing news site Breitbart News, for "participating in or inciting targeted abuse of individuals." Twitter subsequently suspended the accounts of other prominent figureheads of the "alt-right" fringe movement, an amorphous mix of racism, white nationalism, xenophobia and anti-feminism.
TWTR is my chart of the day (or morning at least) off -10% in the premarket on ER ... could be of some interest around that $16 level which has been some good support over the past couple of months.
TWTR has been in a trading range for one year. The selling climax occurred during the ER one year ago. That selling climax ended a one-year-plus downtrend from $75 to $14. Preliminary supply came into the stock a couple weeks prior to the selling climax at 15.50. If the big guys are accumulating they are trying to get their average cost near 15.50. So far, over the past year of this TR, the price has not spent much time under 15.50. I've been patiently waiting for this development.
$TWTR selloff not too damaging technically despite being 10%- Area near 16 very important to Twitter these days
Isn't it #SAD that they reported a loss even when external factors played in the company's favor (elections)? If the company has a future, it's probably a #SAD one.
Well, they better figure out how to monetize better because if they can't do it now when almost every person in America knows to visit twitter to see what the POTUS is thinking every morning... I dont know if you get better reasons for people to read tweets.
Might make a small play on this one around $16.25ish if we see that in the next few days. I'll have a fairly tight stop on it though, as if it drops there's not much more support until ~$14. Can take another shot down there if it drops below my stop.
Wait, does Twitter even have ads? I stopped using it like half a year ago, but I don't remember seeing ads back then.
