Potato head has 0 ideas to share. Ah yes, please @StockJock-e buy more server space so we can hear this guy blubber on about people wanting to see his micro peepee. His only defense when confronted is to think he has "fans". Take this advice for people like you: Run Spud, Run.
Im not sure I understand your meaning here. To be clear, he is messing up Twitter from the business side, and he is becoming a huge liability to TSLA. 50 of the top advertisers, responsible for $2B worth of ad spend on twitter since 2020 have pulled out. I care less about Twitter, I dont own it, maybe some mutual fund of mine did, but its not a stock I cared about too much. Tesla though, that is a company I like. The risk of having your enigmatic billionaire CEO as the face of the company is great when he is loved by all, but less so when he starts acting like and kind of edgelord. His actions here will, and are effecting the price of TSLA shares which makes no difference in his life, but does affect thousands of other investors.
Multiple choice USMC,THEONE,SHOOTINGSTAR, D- none of the above. Always wondered if Jazz and Simon are still alive? We drove those 2 nuts. Poor Gil lost all of his hair. Cy tried taking it over but his site is so dead the robots don't hang out.
While Spud soaks in hot oil, does anyone have ideas to bet against Twitter? If Twitter fails, what company(ies) will inherit the business? Instagram? (Meta)
I don't see it "failing", I just don't think it'll be a profitable business for a long time, if ever. A positive about it being owned by one of the richest men in the world is that even if it loses money, it might not matter. Just let it run it's course over the next 10 years and see what happens. Elon won't be in too much pain financially if it continues to lose money.
I think we need to define "fail". In terms of revenue, they are in trouble, I do not see them making any kind of money any time soon. This does not seem to be an issue for Musk, he will just sell more shares in TSLA to raise funds as he needs. When the Tesla board starts tightening the infinite money glitch, then there may be some major downsizing as in many offices shutting down completely. As a service, there will be some hiccups, I think the biggest risk is a data breach or hack. With most of the former employees who were there to protect against this now gone, there may be some gaps in security. I do believe Elon does a 180 soon enough where he pisses off the MAGA crowd, he will explain it as "both sides need to be upset" because that is fair according to his weird logic. The Elon simps will run around explaining how its all 4D chess because simps.
damn i knew it! my hunch was legit thinking it might've been you this whole time. whatever happened to you and a rando named bullmarket29 if my memory serves me correctly, going off to start some bulls only message board in the days after HSM moved from the vbulletin platform to huddler? only to see it completely fold in a day or two lel. damn that was a long time ago. anyway, you ain't kiddin' about jazz and simon i miss them bigly time. i know you and mjoke had some great battles during the HSM era. those were kinda fun ngl. been missing him too even though he came off kinda annoying sometimes haha. but the dude was one f'n smart cookie. another one i terribly miss was ace i think the most awkward member i can remember during the HSM era was the user named "nowwhat" lmao. you remember him right? i used to call him captain obvious for his lack of understanding of how the market works. there's so many more to mention but let me stop myself while i'm ahead before i run this thread into the ground which is totally not intended! hope everyone has a nice thanksgiving.
I wonder if Musk will just sell Twitter at a loss to some other entity. He'll try and create a narrative that it was always his intention to clean it up and then move on, and I'm sure some people will soak that up. I think the community will more-or-less adapt to things like this. After all, if you don't like it you don't have to participate. Even when platforms do ridiculous things (youtube putting more ads, facebook selling data) consumers grumble but don't have the guts to actually pull away. Where I think the uphill battle is that the other platform already exists. YouTube is the king of long-form video content...people are too used to it, and getting people to adopt Twitter's platform is going to be very difficult.
Twitter's survival is irrelevant, since we cannot own it. The point is, if Twitter loses a bunch of business, where will it go? Will it make an impact on another company that we can own?
Nothing at the moment, so far Mastadon and some random app called Hive are seeing a big influx of users, but they are not public. At the end of the day, twitter is the next twitter. Elon will bring in a new CEO, the company will add some new features and an edit button and life will return to normal.
The World is still wobbling, tweeter is still tweeting, Tesla hasn't died yet and the blood is on the grill.
Imagine making all these moves in an attempt to save money and make Twitter profitable, and then going to war with the company that houses your app for half of the world's users. One can argue that cutting staff, code reviews, other decisions, etc are attempts to save money and are good/bad decisions, but going to war with the company who houses your app and won't even see a dent in their bottom line from this war just seems extremely irresponsible.
Imagine being the fly on the wall in Tim Cook's office. If looks could kill. The "Elon Musket" tweet was priceless and on point.
Nah, let him get it out of his system. All the weird Elon simps keep defending his actions as if he is doing something really smart, but this is just screwing TSLA more and more. I predict we see a shift in leadership in Tesla soon. It will just be cosmetic, but necessary for the image of the company. Twitter is seeing a lot of activity from all his 4D chess, more traffic is good, so he will keep doing this until it stops working. At that point he will magically discover that he can bring back big advertisers by bringing back the moderation standards they had before, he will shift to center and make some pro liberal, anti GOP remarks, then proclaim "both sides need to be equally angry". The weird Elon nerds will praise him for being so smart and how it was all part of some plan. In reality its just him chasing the dollars.
