Well, I see where they're coming from, but I don't feel like this will be a game-changer in any way. Not sure too many gamers are THAT obsessed with sound quality - they are most usually focused on graphics and performance.
A company called Dexta Robotics recently unveiled a new product that could end up revolutionizing the way VR hand-tracking and interaction takes place. It’s called the “Dexmo,” and it is a futuristic looking exo-skeleton that attaches over your hand like a glove. The glove is full of components that are able to communicate with a VR experience and help you actually feel virtual objects held in your actual hands.
AOL signs seven-figure VR ad deal with American Family Insurance Verizon's AOL has signed its first major virtual reality ad deal since it announced it purchased VR and 360-degree video company RYOT. The deal, which a spokesperson for AOL said was worth seven figures, will leverage RYOT to create a branded video series, written articles, social media posts and 360-degree/VR videos in partnership with American Family Insurance and media agency Mindshare. The series will focus on heroes inside their communities overcoming their challenges. It will run from late October until the end of the year. "This is our first big project that we've launched together with AOL Partner Studios and HuffPost where we can really flex our technology muscle and use this to bring people inside," RYOT co-founder Bryn Mooser told CNBC. RYOT was acquired by Verizon in April, and was placed in a division under AOL's Huffington Post. Deloitte Global has estimated that virtual reality would reach $1 billion in revenue this year, with $700 million worth of headset sales. http://www.cnbc.com/2016/09/26/aol-signs-seven-figure-vr-ad-deal-with-american-family-insurance.html

I am thinking about a long term investment with either AMD or NVDA, not sure what to look at, any suggestions?
Both are good companies and are competitors of each other of course. A number of our members are playing these stocks. I have personally have been playing AMD since the mid-two's. Here are our threads on both companies. AMD http://stockaholics.net/threads/amd-advanced-micro-devices-inc.39/ NVDA http://stockaholics.net/threads/nvda-nvidia.144/ One year chart comparison
In my opinion, AMD has higher immediate upside but is tremendously more volatile. If you're looking for consistent but slower gains, NVDA is more reliable and safe. Depends on the type of investor you are.
I think this is really cool as I am a big fan of Google Earth. Google Earth VR http://store.steampowered.com/app/348250/

Article mentions Nokia killing their spherical VR camera Ozo (price tag $45k), and gets into the difficulties of others in making a low-end VR camera.
