Oh man I think you might have had too tight of a stop. It's above the 10 sma, and using the 50 sma for support. It's a pretty low volatility stock, just 1.6% according to finviz. So double that, which stocks rarely do in one day on the downside would have been enough rope to give it for one more day.
I think youre right..... im still trying to find a good stop strategy To start, i put my stop 5% down... and i try to buy within 5% of a support to back up my judgement Then if i get room, i bump the stop up to my entry... which is what i did here, but i guess i misjudged the room Never thought of looking up avg volitility... good suggestion!!... ill try that next go round
Anyone who made it through that shake out yesterday will wake up with a smile today Amazon acquires Whole Foods Market https://seekingalpha.com/news/3273999?source=ansh $AMZN, $WFM
Haha sucker! You could have had it delivered to you if you just waited That was a nasty shakeout. This came out of nowhere, I thought Amazon was working with Sprouts Farmers Market. Listening to the Mad Money podcast from yesterday, funny hearing Cramer talk about the supermarkets being uninvestable now. I'm curious how the expensive items of Whole Foods will coalesce with Amazon's cut-rate pricing policy.
Yea, in retrospect even if i woulda held on, i woulda got pummeled yesterday My original stop was at $33.35... yesterdays low was $32.96
