What do you think about GE? In my opinion it fell to the bottom and it's time to buy.

The weekly charts are showing an increase in volume as well as a start to a reversal. There is no steady long term advance which makes it a riskier so my opinion is, " I wouldn't bet the farm on it. "

I would buy ALT for the short term. They are working on the Covid-19 vaccine and looks like they are gaining traction. If an FDA decision comes out, it could explode or die. But before that decision, it appears to have an up wave to ride. I would buy and watch the FDA closely, then sell some just before the decision.

I ended up buying ALT at 22.08, see what happens in the next couple weeks.

On 4/21 when Covid-19 started hitting the US and shutting things down, I looked at stocks. These ones stood out as doing great, up until 2020 when Covid hit. I believed that over the long run, an investment could gain 100% or more when things returned to normal.

The MAX chart is interesting on these.

The EV sector is hot with TESLA leading the way, a small cap Nasdaq IDEX had a wild ride in June and has come off it's $4 high with Q2 around the corner.

I would hold off before betting on any company finding a vaccine. There's just no way to gauge the future of medical science.

Some companies are established, and have a record of success. Some companies have been around for decades, and have not brought any drugs to the market.

The world of science is not business. Your research fails for 40 years, you should be out of business. But in the world of science, you keep getting more money for failing.

But if you want to invest in pharmaceutical companies, there are plenty of good companies who have products on the market, and more in the pipeline. Not saying anyone needs Viagra...PFE Pfizer. I wish I invested in Quaaludes.

A55 I get your point and would not want to bet on it for long term But it seems like there is hype that they might do something. I'm guess that the hype will last until they find out if the FDA approves or what the trials will be etc. I'll take the little hype jump in stock price, if they come out with any news that smells bad, then I'll sell immediately.

Pharmaceutical companies are not traditional business models. They can operate on failure, and continue to receive funding. The real secret to their financial success is how good they are at soliciting funding. Not if they are any good at making drugs. You try operating a failure for 40 years, and see if anyone keeps giving you money to lose.

Just remember, any hype stock can lose you money just as fast as it can make you money. Play the wrong pump and dump one time and you might change your mind. You could make some quick money here and there, but it's gonna hurt when you lose it all that 1 time.

There was another jump because of positive clinical trials and they plan to do a phase 1 study 4th quarter of 2020. Since the clinical trial has people excited, then I'm guessing that the phase 1 study will also have people excited and the stock will gear up for that event. I think I'll sell half my shares when the phase 1 study gets mentioned again. Because I don't know how the study will go, I want to win in either case.

truth. And in my experience, the bigger the gains before the loss, the bigger the loss. Its funny how percentages work. And betting percentages of a folio.
    10% gain of $100 is $10.
    So next bet is $110.
    10% loss then is $11.
So then same loss % leaves one less than starting capitol, if not very careful with money management.

not that im one to preach. Just always in awe of compounding percentages.

"July 16, 2020, subject to satisfaction of customary closing conditions"

An event in the future can cause hype. The event, I will call digging for gold. The closer they get to the gold, the more hype it cause. The only thing that changes the hype is the discovery. Did they find gold or not? I play the hype leading up to the discovery and sell my stocks before. They might find gold or just an empty hole. I might lose out on a gold mine, but that is not my game. My game is, don't lose money. That is much better. Anyway, the discovery is July 16, so I sell July 15.

    ALT.
I was going to sell tomorrow before the event July 16th, but closed at 31. I bought it a week ago at 22.08 and can't turn my nose up at a 30% gain. On to the next gold mining event.
