I have been following this company for quite some time now and bought some shares recently. Only downside is that it is traded on the OTCQB. Other than that BLGO is an interesting company in my opinion with an attractive risk/reward ratio. Air force bases are among their customers so the company is no joke. I invested because of the PFAS treatment solution. PFAS is a big issue in the US (and also worldwide). In addition the company has Covid-19 potential with their Clyraguard product line. Current Market Cap is ~ $37 Million.

BioLargo, Inc. is an innovator of technology-based products and environmental engineering solutions provider driven by a mission to "make life better". We feature unique disruptive solutions to deliver clean air, clean water and a clean, safe environment.

Clyraguard is advertised with the below features/benefits. The product seems to be working (see link at the very bottom). It should be possible imo to sell this product more than 1 million times. The following is of interest from the Seekingalpha article in one of my previous posts:

„First 50,000 units of Clyraguard sold out and orders are piling up for next shipment of 200,000 units. Production ramping up rapidly to meet exploding demand. Retail price is $25 per unit that lasts between 30 to 60 days. Sales have potential to exceed tens of millions of units per month“

Interesting, they're presenting at the LD Micro 500 web conference next week on Tuesday Sep 1st https://ld500.ldmicro.com/

What's better about Clyraguard vs what's being used at hospitals now?
Have you talked to any doctors or medical professionals about this?

I'm not sure about what the medical community is using now and would need to go down a deep rabbit hole to find out, unless you already did some research on this : )

Feel like most of the mass market is not exactly content with sanitizer and would possibly opt for an all-natural better solution.

The virus is under control in parts of the world (see the wuhan water concert lol) but it's still mutating and spreading and research says it it will be around for a while.

May be a good trade, but it looks like it will be a rocky runway as an investment.

Curious to know your thoughts on this after your research Dan.
I'm by no means a financial statement analyst (that gradschool class will be next semester lol)

Big working capital defect though, they are going to have to raise capital, they have to be working on a capital raise right now.

For the six months ended June 30, 2020, we had a net loss of $5,316,000, used $2,062,000 cash in operations, and at June 30, 2020, we had a working capital deficit of $3,098,000, and current assets of $1,678,000. We do not believe gross profits in the immediate future will be sufficient to fund our current level of operations. We have been, and anticipate that we will continue to be, limited in terms of our capital resources. During the year ended December 31, 2019, none of our business segments (see Note 10, “Business Segment Information”) generated enough revenues to fund their operations, or to contribute to our corporate operations or overhead. Thus, in light of our cash position at year end, in order to continue operations, we continued to sell our stock in private securities offerings and to Lincoln Park (see Note 3).

Although we are able to rely on investment funds through our agreement with Lincoln Park, the foregoing factors raise substantial doubt about our ability to continue as a going concern. Ultimately, our ability to continue as a going concern is dependent upon our willingness to require Lincoln Park purchase our stock, and in the long term, our ability to attain a reasonable threshold of operating efficiencies and achieve profitable operations by licensing or otherwise commercializing products incorporating our technologies. The consolidated financial statements do not include any adjustments that might be necessary if we are unable to continue as a going concern.

Clyraguard was actually 5% of their sales $21k March - June but they expect it to ramp up.
    Clyra Medical Technologies (“Clyra”) -- which develops and sells medical products based on our technologies, including Clyraguard Personal Protective Spray;

ONM Environmental (formerly Odor-No-More) (“ONM”) -- which sells odor and volatile organic control products and services (located in Westminster, California)
    -Was flat quarter over quarter.

BLEST -- which provides professional engineering services on a time and materials basis for outside clients and supports our internal operations as needed (located in Oak Ridge, Tennessee)
-Declined proportional to previous 3 months revenue

R&D is down but they have a water contract win which will provide $171k USD grant.
BioLargo Water (“Water”) -- which historically focused entirely on R&D, and has now shifted its focus to commercializing the AOS technology, developing manufacturing operations for hand sanitizers and supporting the development of iodine based disinfecting products for the company (located in Edmonton, Alberta Canada).

    upload_2020-8-27_19-53-42.png

They also break down revenue by major customers
Customer "I" went from 25% to less than 10%
Customer "A" went from 18% to less than 10%

They did have some smaller customers that ramped up revenues, but the fluctuations with the drop off of the biggest customers worry me.

    Hi MarkITRight
You raise some great questions. I am not an expert, but from the testimonial video with a Doctor (see link below) hospitals appear to be using different things to protect masks currently but none has the safety profile of BioLargo’s Clyraguard. So the safety characteristics you have pointed to seem to be indeed superior.

Wednesday I read an article in UK Sky News “Product found in insect repellent could kill coronavirus, military study shows”. That article was at the top of my app for half a day so it seemed to be important news to Sky News. Clyraguard is much more advanced and ready for sale.

MarkITRight, the financials might not look too great at the moment but the company has been around for quite a while and managed to progress without diluting shareholder too much. Imo this is outweighed by the huge potential of Clyraguard and the PFAS treatment technology. The below interview from a month ago sums up the potential of Clyraguard and PFAS for the company pretty well. Listening to the interview closely, I have a feeling it will be challenge to meet all the demand for Clyraguard, but of course I could be wrong...

Bought some additional shares today after doing some more dd over the weekend.

I in particular listened again to the Virtual Annual Meeting July 23, 2020. The part on Clyraguard starts at 14:30 minutes.
    https://www.webcaster4.com/Player/I...a-5754-4cd3-b0bb-8b4230e127a1&uid=5944988&sid

Concerning Clyraguard apparently they had some luck that they were in the process of developing a new product which they were able to test in a respectable test institution on SARS CoV 2.

Obviously this small company is not prepared for such a potential blockbuster product. However, what BLGO has achieved meanwhile is that they have a production capacity of 1 million bottles per month with three contract-manufacturers (according to press release August 17, 2020 https://irdirect.net/prviewer/release/id/4424348).

According to the annual meeting presentation BLGO has now teamed up with a 2,5 Billion annual revenue 30 year old supplier for hospitals. The total number of all U.S. Hospitals in 2019 was 6,146. If each hospital buys ~ 163 bottles of Clyraguard per month, this results in 1 Million bottles sold per month. The product is sold for $25. The margin for this product should be pretty good imo.

BLGO owns ~ 50% of Clyra Medical technologies with license agreement at 6% on sales. 6 months of sales with 1 million bottles equals a total revenue for Clyraguard of $150 Million (9 months = $225 Million; 12 months $300 Million etc.).

Here is the question of interest: What would you do if you are the hospital purchasing manager and Clyraguard is presented to you? You would check if it works and look at the study, and then if you are not a total idiot you would by this stuff for the extra protection of your workforce.

You can easily sell this product also to the police and army.

If every US citizen would have such a bottle of Clyraguard they could go voting in November with this extra protection.

Let's see what they have to report tomorrow at the LD 500 Virtual Conference.

I listened to the presentation today at the LD 500 Virtual Conference. I am still convinced that BLGO will be a winner soon. The 2,6 Billion revenue hospital supplier is making final preparations for the product launch of Clyraguard through their distribution channels. Feedback from frontline workers is exceptional. The Clyraguard spray gives frontline workers much more confidence. More news to follow in the coming weeks as events unfold...

    Promising news...

BioLargo's CupriDyne Technology Shown Capable of Complete SARS-CoV-2 Inactivation in 10 Minutes
    September 02, 2020
    https://irdirect.net/prviewer/release/id/4442908

WESTMINSTER, CA / ACCESSWIRE / September 2, 2020 / BioLargo, Inc. (OTCQB:BLGO), developer of sustainable technologies and a full-service environmental engineering company, today announced an important milestone in its ongoing efforts to bring to market a safe and effective antiviral disinfectant based on its patented CupriDyne® technology. In a third-party study conducted by researchers at the Galveston National Laboratory (GNL) at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB), a modified CupriDyne formula was shown to cause complete inactivation of SARS-CoV-2 (the COVID-19 virus) in 10 minutes - roughly the same performance observed with highly concentrated bleach.

BioLargo had previously disclosed that its CupriDyne technology was proven capable of reducing SARS-CoV-2 titers by 99% after 30 minutes, with complete inactivation occurring after 60 minutes of CupriDyne exposure. Since that time, BioLargo scientists worked to modify the CupriDyne formula to achieve faster bacterial and viral inactivation in order to prepare to file for an EPA registration for a new disinfecting product (to be named) that is based on the CupriDyne technology. These new results indicate that those efforts were successful, and that the technology is now capable of total antiviral disinfection in 10 minutes against SARS-CoV-2.

BioLargo President & CEO Dennis P. Calvert commented, "We believe that the future is bright for our CupriDyne-based disinfectants. We intend to apply for registration with the EPA once product designs are finalized. It is important to understand that we are achieving these extraordinary results at a significantly lower concentration than that of bleach in the same test protocol. We have retained a leading EPA consulting firm to lead us in the EPA registration process and intend to move ahead as soon as possible. These products are a great addition to our expanding portfolio."

Impressive credentials of the person BLGO hired recently in June. Let's hope he will help make the Clyraguard face mask Covid-19 protection spray a blockbuster success...

Johnny Sirpilla Joins Clyra Medical Technologies as Chief Business Development Officer
    02 Jun 2020

Mr. Sirpilla is the former President of Camping World Accessory Stores, a 140-store nationwide retail chain serving the RV industry and was promoted in 2012 to Chief Business Development Officer for the parent company, Camping World and Good Sam with annual sales of nearly $4 billion.

Mr. Sirpilla commented, 'At Camping World, a portion of my responsibilities involved the oversight of call center operations, buying & merchandising, parts and accessories inventory, distribution center supply chain, store operations, and wholesale distribution. I believe strongly that these experiences will help me propel Clyra to the success it deserves. Clyra's products fit well in my philosophy that inspiring others can lead to a positive impact on the world.'

Nice summary. I like in particular this "Long Only, Deep Value, Special Situations, Growth"...

BioLargo's New Breed Ultra-Safe Yet Powerful Disinfectant Could Play Major Role In $16 Billion Conventional Toxic Disinfectant Market
Sep. 12, 2020 11:11 AM ET|About: BioLargo, Inc. (BLGO), Includes: CLX, DOW, ECL, KMB, MMM, PG
    • Toxicity of conventional disinfectants greatly limits usage. A non-toxic disinfectant with unrestricted use would be far more effective and would likely experience rapid uptake in a $16 billion market that is exploding due to the COVID-19 pandemic
    • CDC claims“even low level exposure to chlorine (ingredient in bleach) can result in nose, throat, and eye irritation. At higher levels, breathing chlorine gas may result in changes in breathing rate and coughing, and damage to the lungs”
    • CDC reports calls to poison centers due to disinfectant exposures increased by 20% in Q1 2020
    • BioLargo (BLGO: OTCQB) Clyraguard and CupriDyne disinfectant technology is game-changing because it is proven ULTRA-SAFE, non-toxic, colorless, and non-staining
    • Clyraguard helps solve face mask shortage by allowing face masks to be reused safely and effectively
    • The unprecedented safety of CupriDyne and Clyraguard combined with the broad spectrum of pathogens they have been proven to kill strongly suggest that this is the biggest breakthrough in history in the $16 billion disinfectant market
    • BioResearchAlert finds BioLargo shares highly undervalued and positioned for dramatic growth for both the short and the long-term. Share price is $.16 with market cap of only $35 million

    Bought some additional shares today.

Concerning the Clyraguard Covid-19 face mask protection spray the following was stated by the CEO in the latest letter/email to shareholders.

“On a Clyraguard-related note - we are anxious to update everyone on the advancement of Clyraguard sales, so keep an eye out for more Clyraguard news!”

BioLargo Wins Octane HTA Award for COVID-19 Response

    http://biolargo.blogspot.com/

The award highlighted BioLargo’s agile response to COVID. They noted that the company’s subsidiary Clyra Medical Technologies worked quickly to roll out Clyraguard Personal Protection Spray (www.clyramedical.com/clyraguard), which recently launched to great enthusiasm, with sales and distribution presently ramping up through national partners.

Clyraguard, an FDA-registered hospital-grade disinfectant, offers an additional line of defense against COVID-19. It helps protects mask-wearers from cross contamination by providing quick, safe, effective on-the-go decontamination of masks and other noncritical PPE. It has been tested and proven effective to completely inactivate SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) in a published study conducted by Galveston National Lab (UTMB-Galveston), and it is proven to be non-toxic, non-irritating, non-sensitizing, safe on skin, and eco-friendly.

Launching this product was no easy task – Clyra set up contract manufacturing capable of delivering up to 1 million units per month, secured FDA registration, built a full-scale marketing campaign that is currently launching, and established partnerships with national distributors.

The next couple of weeks will be interesting as we will get information how much of Clyraguard Covid-19 face mask protection spray has been sold in Q3. Concerning my main investment decision things are moving ahead with Biolargo's PFAS treatment technology.

Well, looking at today's news I think it is reasonable to conclude that wearing a mask makes sense at certain occasions. And what is even better imo is to wear a mask with Covid-19 face mask protection spray ;)
