Thought this could be another fun and interesting poll to conduct on here for the new year.

This is continuing the tradition from @stock1234's thread from this year.

Vote on how green or red you think the markets will perform for the full year in 2024!

Feel free to also post your vote on this thread and discuss your vote as it's always great to hear everyone's thoughts and opinions on the markets for the new year. This poll will be open for votes up until a week from today. Cheers everyone! :)

i'll go first and say we'll have a down year -10% or greater. there's a lot of potential headwinds in the new year that could possibly upset the applecart, especially following the rip roaring year we had this year. i think the consensus for next year is for another bullish year, so guess you can say i'm going against that grain. then again, that's just the bear at heart in me speaking. :p

Data suggests the recession is still a year away.

I'm not particularly bullish, but that doesn't help me come up with a number for the SPX.
Let's see, over 13% translates to >5400 SPX. I could see us hitting that very easily

but I'm going to guess we don't end the year that high.
I'll pick +10 to 13%, not particularly bullish. Even though half the years end up +15%.

A volatile year but we close slightly up, only if we avoid a recession though :)

Up over 13% for 2024. I do not see anything to hold the market back this year.

But I was also way off last year, so this year will be a recession :lauging:
