Lithium was one of the few commodities to actually post price gains in 2015, largely due to supply constraints and robust demand from the lithium-ion battery industry. “The reality is that supply is very tight in the market at the moment,” explains Anthony Tse, Galaxy Managing Director. “Demand continues to grow quite robustly, especially in China which broke the record in 2015 for new energy vehicles sold into the market—around 379,000 vehicles.” That’s more than a several-fold increase in electric car sales in China over 2014. While prices started off the year around US$5,800/tonne, by the end of 2015 lithium pricing was heading well north of US$10,000/tonne, according to Canaccord Research
Excerpt from Edison Report Sonora’s lithium resource now comprises an indicated mineral resource of 5.0Mt of lithium carbonate equivalent (LCE), from 364Mt of clay ore bearing a lithium grade of 2,600ppm. This is an 18% increase in lithium grade and an increase in indicated resource tonnes of c 340% over the previous inferred estimate of 1.14Mt LCE from 95Mt of clay at 2,200ppm. Inferred tonnages decrease 38% to 3.9Mt LCE, a reduction from the previous estimate of 6.3Mt, resulting from the upgrading of the inferred resource tonnages to indicated. This improved and upgraded mineral resource estimate is integral to the completion of a feasibility study on Sonora to be finalised by Bacanora, expected during Q116. REM has an effective economic interest in the Sonora Lithium Project of 42.04%. For illustrative purposes only, applying our in-house peer group derived lithium resource multiple of US$24.48/t implies a value for REM’s 42.04% of the combined indicated and inferred resource tonnages on an LCE basis of US$218m, or £143m. This compares to its current market cap of £57m. The Sonora Lithium Project FS in Q116 remains the key catalyst to realising the full value of this resource. We expect to reinstate our forecasts on the company by year end.

Tesla (TSLA) Enters Lithium Supply Deal With Bacanora Minerals and Rare Earth Minerals By Madeleine JohnsonAug 28, 2015 1:04 PM Announced Friday, Tesla Motors Inc (TSLA) and the “Sonora Lithium Project Partners,” a joint venture between mining company Bacanora Minerals Ltd and investment company Rare Earth Minerals Plc, have secured a conditional long-term lithium hydroxide supply agreement. Bacanora Minerals and REM have coveted rights to land in northern Mexico, where lithium is found in mineral-rich clay. With Tesla’s “Gigafactory” (its $5 billion battery factory) under construction near Reno, Nevada, this deal gives the electric car maker an important base ingredient used in the production of the lithium-ion batteries in its vehicles. And, the agreement allows Tesla access to below-market-rate lithium I exchange for minimum purchase quantities over a five year period. Rare Earth Minerals’ executive chairman, David Lenigas, said that "the selection of the Sonora Lithium Project as one of the lithium suppliers to the Tesla Gigafactory is a landmark transaction that will support the development and commercialization of the Sonora Lithium Project. This key supply agreement with Tesla will hopefully be the first of a number of potential lithium off-take partners for the Sonora Lithium Project as we move towards the next stages of project development." Combined, the mine and processing facility has an initial expected capacity of 35,000 tons of lithium, with potential expansion to 50,000 tons.

http://finance.yahoo.com/news/bacanora-minerals-announces-sonora-lithium-204012095.html Summary of the Sonora Lithium Project of which REMMY the following: Sonora was never about Megalit. REMMY have 17% for La Ventana and the 42% of the Mexilit areas of Fleur and El Sauz. So REMMY have a 42% interest in 5/7 areas. Check table 4.1 which may explain it better. What I do find interesting is the Megalit concession, it is massive, the undefined area is x8 bigger than the whole area which has been assessed but then again we know that only 10%'has been drilled!
