I have been looking at a few stocks and noticed there is not an ask value. Can you buy stock if there is not an ask value? Do I need to use a different app to search for it?
Either a quote error some something is wrong. If its a penny stock you are probably looking at some penny garbage, avoid it!
You can make a great of money on penny stocks. I have been trading them for years. My understanding is that the ask and bid that appears on your screen during the premarket session is based on premarket activity, of course. Unfortunately, the premarket valuations are a bit inaccurate because most people don't trde during premarket hours (sort of). Thats less true now (post-Wallstreetbets). If there is no ask price during trading hours, I would stay away in fears the company is about to be delisted. I use TD Ameritrade, a fantastic trading platform. Up unitil about a month ago, that is. They also had the best customer service in the world. Now I call them for help with a trade at 5:00 am, my wait time is 90 minutes. This is crazy. I think all these kids (most using Robinhood) are going to loose all their money on cheap stocks.
