I am in hurry to buy anything but I did add a small slice of MGM to my position and may buy more but may not happen today. I might buy the $4.50 S calls but haven't decided on the month yet. For those that missed the AMD run you might look to the Jan 20th 5.50 calls to be on the safe side. Got to go, my eyes are blurry from seeing all this red....TTT
Later in the trading day I went and watched a movie and came back before close to see what buying op's were available. These these were all small tier buys as who knows what next week will bring. I have found out that most of my small buys turn into bigger trades by the time I take profits (hopefully). My Buys today MGM - added to my position (2 slices bought) CX - Bought off the lower BB on a 13% drop S August 19th 4.50 calls - maybe a little risky but had already hit 4.48 interday a few days ago on strong volume and high above the upper BB.
Day 2, of the Brexit fallout I probably won't make any trades today other than adding some small slices to my longs. A little bright spot this morning is AMD is up and S and T are back and forth between red and green.
Of all the stocks I am watching, S is showing the most strength, It would be against my principles to recommend during this fallout but I think it may pop if when we get a relief rally.or a less bad market. Currently up 2 cents @4.13
The market keeps pushing stocks down below their support levels and again many stocks closed near their lows. I would like to make it clear that I can not make very many buy recommendations until the Brexit fallout subsides. I will show you what I am playing to give you my perspective on certain stocks and stocks of interest. My only winners today was T and S. As I brought a lot of people in on AMD I will continue to give guidance as I see it. If you bought when I brought it too the board your in good shape even at the current prices. If you bought when I suggested when it was in the mid-three's your still banking profit. Stocks of Interest IRT - Holding up well and still above the $7.50 I am might get interested if it dips below 7.40 Brazilation plays - not yet Oil Plays - not until Brexit subsides S http://stockaholics.net/search/60136/ AMD http://stockaholics.net/threads/amd-advanced-micro-devices-inc.39/#post-14132 T http://stockaholics.net/threads/t-at-t-inc.74/#post-14142
Rally Day: AMD (near +8% or so) off the blocks strong as as well S. My new play CX is up but still not recommending just yet in case Brexit pops back up tomorrow.
Good rally today and I hope we can get a continuance. Much depends on whether this was relief rally via a technical bounce, Dead Cat bounce as some call it or have we seen the Brexit bottom. I got my losses back from yesterday and then some but not from Brexit day 1 yet. This be a lesson to the new traders to have a substancial amount cash on hand at all times to be prepared for fallout like we have seen. I did not go hog wild but I have been adding to BAC and VLY my financial stocks and hoping for a Divi increase from BAC as they passed the stress test. I have also added to MGM and UVE but just small slices until I see what direction the market is going. All green except T (extremely overbought) that give back a penny with AMD being the highlight closing @5.12 for a 8.47% pop. CX brought home a 3.64% gain to close at 5.69. My biggest gains today were my calls on AMD and S screen shot below AMD - Today's trading and upcoming http://stockaholics.net/threads/amd-advanced-micro-devices-inc.39/#post-14339 S - Today's trading and upcoming http://stockaholics.net/threads/s-sprint-corporation.165/#post-14345 MGM - My thoughts http://stockaholics.net/threads/mgm-mgm-resorts-international.154/#post-14346 UVE - What I did and what I am doing http://stockaholics.net/threads/uve-universal-insurance-holdings-inc.599/#post-14344
i m back guys.. good to see new site... just re-registered again ... will come back with new ideas ...
Welcome back waqas8521 and welcome aboard. Looking forward to hearing your new ideas. You might want to post to the following link and tell us what you have been up to New Members - Welcome aboard http://stockaholics.net/threads/new-members-welcome-aboard.957/ With futures, oil, and the pound up this morning it we are ready for launch
Market rally again today as Brexit fears ease, with oil and the pound up. CX currently up 4.66% @5.96, one of my buys from the Brexit drop.S put my calls in the money. T set a new 52 week high. AMD off it's highs waiting for a announcement on sales but looks good as some of the online sites are already sold out on the RX480. MGM took back more ground today and up 2.94%. My buys on BAC and VLY during the drop paying off now. All is good and as I am doing much typing these prices are not in real time anymore
Jesus, glad I sold BAC. Didnt get the clue that she had fallen so much. I remember also well playing CX some years ago, the mexican cement/concrete producer. Last time I heard of them was last December when in London. One of them trucks, obviously on the wrong side of the street (not me of course...) , almost hit me!
You did the right thing RG, on BAC if it was just a trade. As I am long I took advantage of the Brexit drop and added to my position not to mention some far away calls. CX dropped hard from the 8% business they do in the UK. CX dropped from near the upper BB to down below the lower BB. I thought it was a overkill and moved in right off the bottom. I am up decently on it right now. I sold all my Brazilian plays for a decent profit ahead of the Brexit drop and now they are higher than my sells. The benefit though is that I put that money in some bargain sales so I guess that it is a wash. Never had to touch my cash on hand.
T has been setting new 52 week high almost every day and continues that today (Big part of my portfolio). AMD down as upbeat news from the RX 480 is needed to head back north. I am back in the money on my S $4.50 calls. BAC has been back and forth from red to green. My casino stocks taking a hit from Macau news. Got to leave soon so back to trading
It's been a long day for me and heading home I had to deal with flooded roads in Vegas. But it was nice to come home to a green portfolio with the exception of my gaming stocks but they did recover quite a bit. CX was my biggest winner for a 4.58% gain @6.17 followed by UVE closing @18.58 up 3.11%. As I posted earlier I had stopped out of 3/4 of my UVE position, to re-buy lower during the Brexit drop. Even though these were my biggest gains, it was T that is putting the big money in my pocket as it is a bigger part of my portfolio. VLY once again has been outperforming the big bank stocks. I had a bid in today for WPX but missed by 7 cents. If oil should be down tomorrow I will probably make a 1st tier buy on it. AMD is in limbo right now waiting on news on sales of the RX 480 and whether there is a technical issue or not. as the non-official reports are mixed
Thanks @FastEddy Market off it's highs and many stocks pulling back. If we should get Friday sell off you might want to consider CX on a decent drop and VLY at or near 8.90 for a 1st tier buy.
Friday's close was mixed with 4 stocks down, 6 up and 1 at no change. All in all it has been a great post-brexit week even the financials are questionable in the short term. Have a great 4th of July everyone.
