For those that missed the AMD boat today offers a buying op. If interested buy the low of the day at or near with a 1st tier buy and go from there
Brutal market day number two: I hope everyone took advantage of the buying op's. My winners were T, UVE, SID, BBD, and VLY and I was down on the rest. I bought the bottom on AMD as I suggested Friday morning if you did not have a position (in tiers). It was a little easier for me as I am leveraged from a much lower price. I also bought the bottom on VLY and those were my only trades for the day and I made 86 trades for the month of April I have wrote my thoughts in the following links and some with charts and price targets. AMD http://stockaholics.net/threads/amd-advanced-micro-devices-inc.39/#post-4825 T http://stockaholics.net/threads/t-at-t-inc.74/#post-4849 UVE http://stockaholics.net/threads/uve-universal-insurance-holdings-inc.599/#post-4852 SID http://stockaholics.net/threads/sid-companhia-siderurgica-nacional-adr.421/#post-4834 BBD http://stockaholics.net/threads/bbd-banco-bradesco-s-a.135/#post-4835
The market sell off has slowed down BBD's uptrend but it looks like that BBD is ready to run and if the markets are up this week it might be payday for us trading BBD. For more information go to the thread below. BBD http://stockaholics.net/threads/amd-advanced-micro-devices-inc.39/#post-4825
There must be something going on in Brazil as BBD. CIG, and SID are ooking weak in pre-market. Could turn into a buying op
AMD soared today 5.35% erasing the drop from the market meltdown to close @3.74. I bought more UVE on the dip today anticipating earnings but have a bigger buy ready if earnings going the direction I want. BBD, and SID were down as all the Brazil stocks in my play book were down. I started a new position in CIG, one cent off the LOD @1.82. F was up but the downgrade from Bank of America is hurting the uptrend. Bofa has to be short on F to give such a ridiculous downgrade. Gaming was up and details in link below. UVE - Read that a few posts back for the whole story http://stockaholics.net/threads/uve-universal-insurance-holdings-inc.599/#post-5107 Gaming Stocks - Read a post back why they went up today http://stockaholics.net/threads/gaming-stocks.134/#post-5101 CIG _ Gil Oren corrected me on my typo http://stockaholics.net/threads/cig-companhia-energetica-minas-gerais-adr.856/#post-5003
Bad day in the neighborhood #3 in the last 5 trading days. All of my portfolio was down except S and IRT. I made a 1st tier buy on WPX one of my favorite swing plays and added to UVE, SID, IRT, VLY and some others with a total of 20 trades today. The following links will describe some of the action. AMD - Comparison of yesterday and today http://stockaholics.net/threads/amd-advanced-micro-devices-inc.39/#post-5271 IRT - Earnings and my thoughts http://stockaholics.net/threads/irt-independence-realty-trust-inc.648/#post-5277 S - Big Jump on our spec play http://stockaholics.net/threads/s-sprint-corporation.165/#post-5289 WPX - Read up to the next post and read how I buy in percentage drops on this type of stock http://stockaholics.net/threads/wpx-wpx-energy-inc.136/#post-5257 MPEL - Earnings tomorrow and my thoughts Gaming Stocks - And potential drivers for Macau and Vegas http://stockaholics.net/threads/gaming-stocks.134/#post-5279 VLY http://stockaholics.net/threads/vly-valley-national-bancorp.158/#post-5250
Be careful with MPEL earnings. From what I heard was their numbers were down in Macau. Not sure of exact numbers or how down they were but I do know that they were down this last quarter.
Another ugly day as the broader markets sold off. We are getting closer to the lower BB on the S&P and hopefully we will get a bounce soon. I had a lot of red again but the drops were not that significant. I think all our plays are ready to bounce, just need a little market. SID and CIG lost ground as BBD surged to close up 5.51% @7.28 a penny off the HOD. Another bright spot was IRT that rose on earnings to close up 4.14% @7.55 on heavy volume. With earnings tomorrow MGM eeked out a 3 cent gain to close @21.47. S took a big hit with a 5.45% drop on average volume (much short interest). Even though UVE beat estimates it has been pressured down from the market sell off and the insurance sector has been down as well. It dropped 1.73% on medium volume. I took some profits on a early pop from WPX and then it dropped back down with oil to lose .10 @8.42. I still have most of my position but looking for a reload on what I sold. Every thing else was down or unchanged. I added to my VLY position near the LOD and bought more UVE when it dropped below 17. AMD was up and down most of the day but closed unchanged @3.60 on light volume. I think it is ready to head back up on the next market up day MPEL was up on earnings most of the day but finally caved to the market pressure losing only .84% to close @15.12 SYNC - Huge pop in AH and maybe a play after it comes down to earth http://stockaholics.net/threads/sync-synacor-inc.908/#post-5477
What do you think about HCI? It kinda reminds me of UVE... Pretty beaten down, insurance, good ratios on paper, good ratings/recommendation, 4.2% dividend yield... Only difference is they missed the guidance yesterday, dropped all the way down to 28 but it is already bounced of from there pretty nicely.
At a quick glance HCI looks good and it had a big pop today, up 2.29 @30.81 and looks like resistance at about 33 and with a potential of 45.50 where there is a double top waiting, I have been gone all day and tired and catching up so I will make this brief. AMD appears to be winning the battle in the trenches even in stormy conditions. Off the HOD of 3.80, it closed up .06 @3.66 after the market applied pressure. The same with UVE as it is finally came off the blocks after a earnings beat to pick up 27 cents @17.34 with a HOD of 17.51. MGM took off on earnings for a modest gain of .40 @21.87 Financials continue the decline that hit BAC and VLY slightly. BBD, SID, and CIG took a hit as most of the Brazilian stocks were down today. The highlight was WPX taking off with oil and came off the HOD of 9.30 to close up 6.77% @8.99
Yesterday our Brazilian plays were all down and now they are all up in a down market. I am working on a couple threads where the "The Real" can be monitored (Their Dollar). Relating back to UVE it did not take off like was expected after a good earnings. Looking back, the markets were melting down at that time and UVE was overbought. Not only that there was a $18 spike that really had no volume but I think that had a big bearing on the drop from a TA view. Now UVE has gained strength and I expect it to revisit the $18 level once it breaks through the resistance at 17.75. Currently 17.48 I am still strong on AMD but we need a little market or news to propel above $4....Currently 3.67
Even with a big down week these plays done well and congrats to all that bought in early. AMD from 3.55 to 3.68 with a HOD of 3.80 Brought to the board March 31st @2.84 IRT from 7.17 to 7.61 with a HOD of 7.68 Brought to the board on March 31st with a open 6.77 and a close @7.12 UVE 17.61 to 17.82 with a HOD of 18.04 Brought to the board on April 15th with a open of 16.91
Hey Ciao if you need any help to the bank let me know Another down day but there were some highlights, with UVE and IRT continuing their climb up. AMD got beat up early but made a good recovery only losing 3 cents. I bought more WPX off the bottom. BBD is still priming for a run and could make another run at any time with favorable conditions UVE http://stockaholics.net/threads/uve-universal-insurance-holdings-inc.599/#post-5959 IRT http://stockaholics.net/threads/irt-independence-realty-trust-inc.648/#post-5970\ AMD http://stockaholics.net/threads/amd-advanced-micro-devices-inc.39/#post-5965 BBD http://stockaholics.net/threads/bbd-banco-bradesco-s-a.135/#post-5971
It is always great to have a rally and I hope everyone took some profits on your overbought positions providing you have some. Now I am looking for a few reloads on the next big pull back...TTT
